Summer Book Worms

"This summer [1984] we did bookworms. We got prizes if we read a certain amount of parts on your worm. Mandy had to read 25 pages, Josh had to read 75 pages, and Heidi had to read 100 pages to get one part. If we got 12 parts we got a Slurpee. If we got 20 parts, we got a $3.00 prize. If we got 32 parts we got another Slurpee. If we got 40 parts, we got a $6.00 prize. And if we got 50 parts, we got to go Miniature golfing and get a treat. Everyone got to 50. We all had a fun time reading this summer!"

Now I see where my girls get their pink obsession from. Pink pants, shoes, jacket, earrings. Notice I'm reading Nancy Drew.
