"Cupcakes Of Love!"

Since Dan's surgery was right before Valentine's Day I thought it would be fun to give him a Valentine's puzzle to work on while he recovered.  Good news: It was called "Cupcakes of Love" with lots of different cupcakes.  Bad news: It was 1,000 pieces and the colors were very similar and repeated.

But we started on it the day after surgery and worked on it for a few days:

Then we worked on it for a few more days.

I can't remember how many times we said: I'm positive a piece is missing!

Then we had to put it away for a few days as we needed the table for a dinner we were hosting:

We finally got back to it and actually finished it!

And he is all recovered now too.

Time for a cupcake!

17-Mile Drive Revisited!

While we were in the Monterey area we took the opportunity to take the famous "17-Mile Drive": "a scenic road through Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove on the Monterey Peninsula, much of which hugs the Pacific coastline and passes famous golf courses, mansions and scenic attractions, including the Lone Cypress, Bird Rock and the 5,300-acre Del Monte Forest of Monterey Cypress trees."

We took the drive on our honeymoon so it has memories for us!

We didn't have the picture with us and they have changed some things, but we tried to recreate a photo Dan took at the Lone Cypress on our honeymoon over 42 years ago!

The tree is believed to be almost 250 years old and is one of the most photographed trees in America.  Here is Dan adding one more!

Out Of Town For Dinner!

We recently went to the 2015 President's Dinner in connection with the annual CSMFO* Conference in Monterey.  Dan worked with these people for many years as part of his responsibilities with the League. Bob Biery, with the beard in the picture below, invited Dan and I to the dinner.  This picture was taken in the 80's.  

At the dinner Dan was recognized for his contributions with a round of applause, and he had fun renewing some old acquaintances.

It was a very nice evening for us!

And I didn't have to take any pictures because I googled everything and found photos online!

The dinner was held at the Carmel Valley Ranch

in this dining room:

Afterwards some got to try night golfing with glow-in-the dark balls and markers and we watched from the balcony of the Clubhouse. They provided a bus for the 1/2 ride to and from Monterey.

We spent the night at this hotel in downtown Monterey that Dan found and enjoyed having a suite with a fireplace!

It was a fun getaway!

The Park, Again?!

I know I have a lot of posts about the park, but it is a fun place right now for the grandchildren who live near by.  Everyone always has a great time and these photos help me remember a happy afternoon on Monday!

Two Silly!

Two year olds are sure silly!  But they know how to make everything fun.  Recently I was watching Jacob and Lily and fed them their lunch.  They had the best time and we all laughed a lot!

G'day and Hoo Roo!

We enjoyed saying "hello" and "good by" to Mike and Marlyn Moeller who will be leaving in April for the Australia Sydney South mission!

They will be serving for 23 months.
It will be an adventure Down Under!
