Trouble Comes In Threes?

I hope not!
On Thursday I got a text message from Amanda:
"Daniel ran into a pole today at school."  At least no concussion and only 5 stitches!
Then today I got this picture from her!
Daniel and Amelia were playing a jumping game Saturday night, and Daniel fell and twisted his wrist.  It turns out it is a fracture and he will need to keep it in a cast for 6 weeks!
I think Daniel had better be very careful in case that old saying is accurate!

New Fire In California: Birthday Update!

Amanda and Darryl made a delicious German Chocolate cake for me and it actually had 65 candles on it!
Darryl lit them and we were quite surprised at the huge amount of fire that was on top of that cake!
Throughout the day I got to hear members of my family recite scriptures they had memorized in honor of my birthday!
Since we were at the Melanchuk's home, I got to hear them in person.
The McClellan girls wanted to take a selfie with me in it with their new selfie stick!
Then they wanted their Mom to get in it too and you can see Charles in the background taking a picture of it all!
Thanks for all the great scriptures you memorized!
The Perrys posted videos of some of their scriptures!
(These are photos from the videos)
Hannah: 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Joshua: Enos 1:2
David: Exodus 20:8
Jacob: John 11:35
(First, Jacob said: "Jesus loved" before he was reminded that his scripture was: "Jesus wept."  He knows a thing or two!)
Lily: 1 Nephi 2:15
(Those last three scriptures were quite popular among the younger set!)
And I got text videos of Aubrey and Bethany reciting their scripture!

I heard by phone from Josh's and Jeff's families.
I think I counted up 81 separate scriptures that were memorized!
And Nathaniel learned the sign for "scriptures!"
They were from all four of the Standard Works.
We had some of the Ten Commandments on up to several of the Articles of Faith!
Great job on helping me to have a very happy birthday!

Odds and Ends From Our Trip!

I wanted to remember some other parts of our trip!
Camille was the only one home on Friday--everyone else from both families was in school.  So she got some special time with us!
Lunch at an Airport
 (Camille took this picture!)
Now that's some ceiling fan!
We actually saw some planes land and take off!
Eleanor showed us these great Lego birds!
There was some silly picture time!
Fussing with Grandma time!
And even time for some swimming!

Paint the Town!

Sam requested a family Paint The Town party!
Here we are at the art studio ready to go:
Sam picked this painting of two chameleons.
An instructor gives you paint in the colors you request, a stencil for the chameleons and then she goes through how to paint the picture step by step.
Here we are working away!
It was fun for all ages!
The instructor was always willing to help!
Artist consultation:
There is Sam and across from him is his Aunt Sarah and her new baby! (Grandpa Wheeler is to the left of Sarah)
Jeff and Dan hard at work!
Here are the finished masterpieces (in no particular order):
Chameleons or possibly jelly fish?
That's what is so great about art!
And one person did their own thing!
Another great thing about art!
Fun party, Sam!
