February Happenings!

This actually happened at the end of January: Amelia went to the temple for the first time!
Peter got to go for his first time as well and Sam was able to baptize him!
Julia is doing great and got transferred recently.
Her new apartment and companion
It was a pretty dreary month so Sarah and Camille had some fun inside...
...and outside!
I spent a lot of time working on this book but it was so much fun re-living our trip!
Kathryn and Amelia learned how to decorate cakes in YW: Kathryn's
Amelia's
We had a fun lunch at Wendy's with Jacob and Lily!
Loved getting some beautiful flowers!
And last but not least: This girl got accepted to BYU!

Stake Conference Weekend!

We were asked to speak in the Anderson Stake Conference last Sunday.  It is near Redding about 3 hours away, so we decided to go up on Saturday.
As we were loading a small cooler into the car, a neighbor boy asked if we were going on a picnic.  Dan answered: Sort of!
(I was thinking: Speaking at a stake conference is no picnic!)
In Redding we visited the Turtle Bay Exploration Park
We enjoyed an animal show at which we learned a lot about these animals:
Vultures
 Cockatiels
 Badgers
 And skunks
Later we spent some time with some Lorakeets
And I got this great shot of this salmon.
He's not going to eat that fish but it sure looks like it!
At the park is the famous Sun Dial Bridge and fortunately the sun was shining:
We walked across the bridge over the Sacramento River
The shadow on those trees means it's about 3:30 p.m.
On Sunday morning we spoke in stake conference at this building:
Then Dan took off his tie and we headed home!
(There's our little cooler in the back for our picnic!)
We saw a lot of interesting clouds on our way home:
It cleared up as we got closer
And finally a view of the temple off in the trees at our intersection.
It was fun to see some new sites, meet some new people and share our love of the temple!
