Fabulous Five!

Our third granddaughter this year turned FIVE today!!

Happy Birthday, Katie!

It's fun opening presents!   I tried to capture the darling expression on her face as she opened each gift!

She loved them all!  And she wanted to play with them all right away.  Here she is trying out her new DS game!

She picked pizza for dinner and so her parents ordered her her own personal pizza.  

The candles are ready!

I've loved featuring KK (Kutie Katie) as I sometimes call her on my blog this week.  I asked her to show me how she felt about her birthday and this is what she gave me!

It's going to be a great year!

My Football Game Comments!

One of my favorite things about football games: Everyone is dressed for success and excited!

My view most of the time.  His BIG brother was sitting next to him.  Why weren't they down on the field helping out the Cougars?

Who ordered this blistering sun beating down on me?   

I had to order one of these!

Dan has so much fun even with the sun beating down on him and Nevada beating down on the Cougars!

I did get an occasional glimpse of these cute fans!

I survived another BYU football game sitting on top of the world!

Today we got to watch Katie's soccer game.  She plays on the Pink Princesses!  Josh is the coach.  I wanted to get some action shots but every time she saw me trying to take a picture she would turn and pose! 

She's so adorable!  Oh, and we did see her kick the ball one time!

I enjoyed celebrating David's First Birthday with the Perry family!

The whole family got into the act and made it a special evening!!

It's Fun Turning Fifty!

It was fun for Kathyrn to turn FIVE and the following Saturday I helped my sister, Kathy, turn FIFTY.   It was a lot of fun too!

Reid handled everything including all the travel arrangements, food and household.  On Saturday morning after sleeping in we were treated to some delicious french toast!

Then a guided walk in the woods on the Bates property:

And then some shopping and dessert before lunch.  The birthday girl loves flowers:

Not exactly her birthday present but it arrived on her birthday!

Kathy was relaxing on her living room couch trying to decide where we would go for dinner.  Everyone insisted that she be the one to choose the place.

Becky arrived just in time to ask her: Where ARE we going to eat?  I'm hungry! 

She decided on a wonderful Italian restaurant, Pellegrino's:

And then we went home for cake and ice cream and of course, all those candles!

It was fun going to church together in the Olympia 4th Ward:

After church Amanda and her kids arrived and everyone was so nice to them!

Thanks to Claire for sharing all of her dolls with the girls.  I didn't get a picture but she kept them busy for hours!

The afternoon barbecue on a beautiful day!

It was hard to say good bye after such a fun weekend.  Did I mention all the talking we did?  It was so much fun!!
