Once Every Four Years!

We get an extra day!

Last time there was a "Leap Day" I posted about it because the grand kids came over!    Here's a peek back four years ago!

It's Leap Day!

When Dan woke up this morning at 5:30 a.m. I said: It's Leap Day!
He got very excited.  Did you say it's Sleep Day???
So fun to have a day that only comes once every four years.
It seemed like we should have a party!
First, you had to "leap" through the entry way on these green lily pads.
And then it was Play-Dough time!
What a cute bug Amelia made!
So fun to have six grandkids all working on creations!
And the seventh one, little Michael (sporting a new hair cut) had fun trying to see what he could get into while we were distracted!

You're Never Too Old For...

I am a firm believer in Family Home Evening.
The promised blessings are amazing!
Even though there is just the two of us at home, and we spend all day almost every day together, we still have a Family Home Evening every Monday night.  We take turns planning it, and I documented our most recent effort.
First, a lesson combining these two "articles," the first one from the MMM blog:
and the second from the February 2016 Ensign:
We had a great discussion about centering our lives on our Savior, Jesus Christ, and all He has done for us!
Then the activity:
And finally a yummy treat!
We love Family Home Evening!
Working for us for over 43 years!

San Jose Revisited!

I thought this would be fun since everyone enjoyed my pictures from San Jose.
Here's the house again in 2016:
And here it is in 1984!
Here's the drugstore in 2016:
And here it is about 1970!

Sisters (Ok, help me out with this!) about 1968?!

Happy Birthday, Courtney!

Last week Courtney celebrated her 14th birthday.
I love this cake she decortated!
We visited with her on Face Time!
Her main birthday present was to spend the day with her Mom traveling to Kansas City, shopping and then eating at the Cheesecake Factory.
Here they are just about to leave!
Courtney made these collages of her birthday celebration!
New shoes!

Our Valentine's Day!

Instead of a day---how about a whole weekend of Valentine's?
We started celebrating on Friday night by watching this movie:
Then we drove to San Jose early Saturday morning and Dan took me on a tour of some of my most memorable places from my youth!
Our home at 1949 Cronwell Drive:
Here's a close up of the porch and front door:
Dover Elementary school which is now a Christian school but still looked the same!
The Church building on Cherry Ave. where I spent many hours both at early morning Seminary and Saturday night dances and everything in between! (You can see that the fog burned off by the time we got here)
The corner of Meridian and Hamilton where my Dad had a drugstore.  The bakery next door is still going strong!
Then  it was off to Santa Clara University...
...where BYU defeated Santa Clara in basketball 96-62!
It has been a great weekend so far!

We've even been working on our puzzle: "Cupcakes of Love!"

Doing A Museum!

We had a fun morning at the "DoSeum," San Antonio's Children's Museum.  Outside it featured this tree house.
"Little Town" inside was definitely a kid's happy place!
Kids Construction Zone
I think Bethany will enjoy driving!
Aubrey is a first-rate shopper!
I thought the "Veterinary Clinic" was so clever and fun.
Bethany did too!
Keeping up with the times: A food truck!
Upstairs we all had fun with machines, air, and balls!
We want one of these for our backyard!
