Easter Celebration!

I feel lucky that we got to celebrate with the Perrys and the Melanchuks on Good Friday!  It was very good!!
As usual I finally remembered to take a picture when we were already eating dessert.  We ate the main meal inside but then came outside for dessert.
Michael had the most fun on the egg hunt!
Darryl wowed everyone with his ability to use two scooters at the same time!
He went around our circle twice.
Some of our guests (9 grandchildren from two families!) included:
P.S. I thought it would be fun to celebrate spring by doing this puzzle!

Spring Break!

I feel lucky that some of my grandchildren live close by!
Yesterday I had 8 of them here for the morning and through lunch.
Kathryn and Hannah had fun playing games!
Joshua and Amelia like to use their imaginations--here they have a bunny family and they made all sorts of houses for them outside!
They let Daniel help them!
David and Michael just like being a part of the gang!

Even Lily got to join in the fun!

Special Luncheon!

I feel lucky that I was able to be at a special luncheon today with our visiting authorities which included Elder Oaks.
I loved these beautiful centerpieces from our Stake Relief Society which hosted the luncheon!  Each table had this same decoration with Christ in the center.  If you look closely, the tablecloth is quite amazing--those raised white flowers are attached to the tablecloth.

The main thing I got from Elder Oaks' remarks at the luncheon is that we should pray for the Lord to intervene on behalf of the upcoming Supreme Court decision on marriage and also for the situation with the Boy Scouts.

Kindergarten Program!

I feel lucky that I was able to see Amelia's Kindergarten program, a Patriotic salute to America in song and dance!
(Funny detail: Amelia was supposed to wear a red shirt T-shirt if possible.  The only one she had said "I Love Canada!")
A fun time with a fun girl!

True Friend and Good Writer!

I am lucky that I once read Charlotte's Web and remembered this:
"It is not often that someone comes along who is a true friend and a good writer."
That's Hannah!
Recently she asked to borrow an American Girl doll to take to a party and I got the email below from her.  I told her she could choose a name for  the doll.
What a fun party!
Dear Grandma,
I wanted to tell you all about the American Girl Doll birthday party. First of all we went to Chloe's house. I made a bracelet and a necklace for the doll. I named her Jill.  I even made a present for Chloe's doll, Lauren.  I set Jill down at a table that had pretend food on it and you could take the food apart and it would be an eraser. Isn't that awesome? Then we played a little bit with Chloe and her friends. One of the girls name's was Alli. I loved her because she is silly. Then we had lunch. I had cucumbers, strawberries, cheese puffs, pepperoni, and fritos. For drink we had strawberry punch. Then we did a craft. The craft was to make a crown for your doll. It is pretty awesome. Mine has flowers and butterflies on it. You could also put jewels on it. Then we played in Chloe's room more. She had pink streamers hanging down from her door. Then we had treat. I had a cupcake, 3 chocolate (mini) donuts, 1 powdered sugar donut, a cake pop, and 2 strawberry milkshake whoppers. Her mom wanted to get us all sugared up before we went home. Then we played in her backyard. And I forgot to tell you when we first got there, I got to adopt a stuffed animal pet dog for Jill. I got a collar with a bone, and a little ribbon with a flower on it to put on the back. It's name is Honey Jillean. We even made an adoption certificate. And we got dog food. It was really something for real people not dogs. Then Mommy came. I got a goody bag with a pencil, more strawberry milkshake whoppers, an american girl doll notebook, another notebook with stickers to decorate the front, and an ice cream cone and guinea pig eraser. I loved her party. Jill did too. I was glad she invited me to her party.

Our Ward!

I am lucky to be a member of the Church!
There was almost a fun feeling in our meeting today as families arrived wearing all sorts of green items in different shades.  It felt festive!
And then the meeting began and
there was also a great spiritual feeling there as well.
What a blessing to be uplifted each week!

What A Difference A Year Makes!

I feel lucky to have this girl in my life!
This was her birthday last year.  I took her out to lunch.
As we were enjoying our relaxing time together neither of us could imagine what her birthday would be like this year!
She wasn't even expecting last March 13th and now
this is a picture I took this morning at her house:
Later in the afternoon I picked these three up and watched them at my house
while Brian watched the two babies at their house so that...
...MaryAnn could go to the temple!  Happy Birthday!!
Love being on the temple grounds!
Look what a kind friend put on facebook for her birthday:
There was a young lady who lived in my church ward
With so many young children she will never get bored
Hannah, Josh, & David were sent there from Heaven,
Then Jacob and Lily made 5 under age 7!
And now it’s her Birthday! Oh my! What to do?
What gifts does one offer? I don’t have a clue!
She’s got the best presents. But if she’ll accept mine
I offer love, lots of prayers, extra hands, and my time.
