Nathaniel Turns 7!

We were able to go to Chico on Friday, June 26th for Nathaniel's 7th birthday.
We were five minutes from their house when we saw this on the dashboard of our car!
We were glad to get into their nice, cool house.
Nathaniel loved showing us his presents including this crane:
Amelia made this for him and he got lots of other fun things.
Then he opened our gift: some books!
He was so excited and got to reading right away!
We got to watch videos of Daniel playing the cello...
...and Kathryn playing the violin and piano.
We had a very fun and yummy dinner: Homemade individual pizzas made to our specifications. Amelia took care of the drinks.
Nathaniel kept reading...
After dinner we played Nathaniel's Birthday Bingo:
Finally it was time for cake and candles...
It is a book-shaped cake.
Amanda makes creative and delicious cakes!
So fun for Nathaniel to try to blow out the candles!
And then it was back to reading!
The books are all Nate the Great books.
Perfect for our own "Nate the Great!"

A Puzzling Father's Day!

6 great Dads with 6 great families!

Interesting Times!

This has been important to me lately:

This and That #3!

Still dealing with the Pandemic and staying close to home most of the time.
Here are some random things from June.
A Friday visit to the Perrys but this time we went inside their house.
We tried to be careful.
Dan has been able to do a lot of bike riding and it shows in his "tan line."
I have been indexing and reached 50,000 names indexed.
(I had previously reached 50,000 combined.)
Sarah loves photography and was recognized for this photo of their window that got hit by a golf ball.
Jacob and Lily celebrated their 7 1/2 birthday!
This is how we do a 1,000 piece puzzle--one that we've previously done.
We do two puzzles after doing the edge!  The bell is for ringing when you put in a piece!
All done!
Camille is doing a piano bingo game for prizes and sends videos to her teacher to earn spots on her bingo card.
The Perrys played Ultimate Frisbee and Hannah took this picture of them.
Andrea, Sophie and Katie cooling off in Clinton!
The Melanchuks visited the SunDial Bridge in Redding...
...made good use of the peaches from their tree...
...and got a nice photo for Father's Day!
And the McClellans headed out on their trip to Montana.  First stop: Grand Teton national Park!
I've been doing a lot of crocheting for a project for the homeless this winter.
Dan spent many, many hours putting together this book!
It's been a good month!

Happy Father's Day 2020!

Father's Day 2020 is certainly unique!
And it's the first Father's Day for me without my father!
I always sent my Dad some jokes on Father's Day in an email since he didn't want a card.
Here are some I sent him over the years:

Q: What did baby corn say to mama corn? A: Where's popcorn?

Q: What do you call your dad when he falls through the ice?
A: a POPsicle!

Q: Why did the baby strawberry cry? A: Because his dad was in a jam!

Q: What did the daddy tomato say to the baby tomato? A: catch up!

Q: Why are Fathers like parking spaces? A: The good ones are already taken!

Q: Why did the cookie cry? A: Because his father was a wafer so long!

Q: What did daddy spider say to baby spider? A: You spend too much
time on the web.

Father: Let me see your report card. Son: I don't have it. Father:
Why not? Son: My friend just borrowed it. He wants to scare his
parents.

"Dad, are bugs good to eat?" asked the boy. "Let's not talk about
such things at the dinner table, son," his father replied. After
dinner the father inquired, "Now, son, what did you want to ask me?"
"Oh, nothing," the boy said. "There was a bug in your soup, but now
it's gone."

And this one in honor of my Dad trying to saw me in half on a movie:
Jake: What does your father do for a living? Matt: He's a magician.
He performs tricks, like sawing people in half. Jake: Do you have any
brothers or sisters? Matt: Yep, four half-sisters and a half-brother.

Fun Puns!

If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal?

Friday Twins?!

We had so much fun when the Perrys came over two weeks ago that we decided to do the exact same thing again.  But that is hard to do!
We did barbecue hamburgers and I even got some pictures.
And we did play some outdoor games...
This time Jacob got to use the leaf blower which was so fun for him!
And we had rain!  Very unusual for June but the kids loved it.
This is me taking a picture of Hannah taking a picture of the kids playing in the rain!
Because it was wet some of us played a UNO and some still managed to play Koob.
And it was cold so we had to help keep people warm with what we had.
These two may be twins but they are different just like our try-to-repeat Friday activity!
