Girls Camp: Nauvoo!

Every few years Girls Camp in Kansas is at Nauvoo and this was the year for Courtney!
The girls were able to take phones to Nauvoo so they could take and share photos.  Charles borrowed a phone from work for Courtney to take.
The above picture was taken from the bus as they arrived!
Her bunk bed!
Just finished the Trail of Hope walk!
Carthage one morning!
Visitor's Center!
From Courtney: "At the country fair we did games and dancing. Our YW leaders strongly encouraged it.
However there was 150ish girls and no where near enough boys...
that's why I am dancing the line dance with another girl.
As we went around, there were some boys but most didn't want to participate in dancing--they're too cool!
British pageant:
This was Courtney's favorite pageant.  Here is what she said:
"It was a testimony of the Book of Mormon...
"No wicked man could write the book and no righteous man could either unless commanded of god"
They also were saying how they sealed their testimony with their life and at the end they said how you are being a witness by having a testimony of Christ and the gospel.
At the very end the last song was a song the cast started singing--Called To Serve-- then all the missionaries came on and continued singing.
I tried to get them all in 1 pic but they didn't all fit!!!"
Heidi points out that she got a good shot of the boys in the Pageant!
Bus ride home.  Sitting with her friend, Mallory.
The Camp Theme was "O The Places You'll Go."  This was her room sign.
When I asked her what was her favorite thing of Camp, she said:  the Temple!
From Courtney:
The photo I sent was of the stained glass window right outside of the baptistry.
We were taught that Christ represented us in the artwork and that
John the Baptist represented the bishop who was baptizing us.
The trees were all the "important" trees in the scriptures --olive tree, oak tree, tree of life, etc.
The dove represents the Holy Ghost as well as Heavenly Father-- saying:  This is my Beloved Son. Hear Him."
Beautiful sunset on the Mississippi River!
Not sure why she sent me this picture--
maybe a reminder that a trip to Nauvoo is SWEET!
