Outing #7: Old Sacramento!

We included the McClellans in our July outing to 

Old Sacramento.

We had a great time walking around the area.  Here we are posing next to the Sacramento River with the Tower Bridge in the background.  It's hard to tell but the bridge has been painted a bright gold color.

We had fun exploring the gift shops and each girl got some souvenirs.

This candy store was interesting with all the different flavors of salt water taffy including:

Root Beer float, campfire s'mores, banana split, lemon meringue pie and the possibly not-so-yummy flavors of Pickle, maple bacon and PB&J.

We opted for ice cream...

...and Charles got us all some of these:

It says: “They may burn your fingers, but will melt in your mouth”

They were very hot and very delicious!

We love the Gold Rush heritage in our area!
