On Saturday afternoon we headed up Big Cottonwood Canyon and hiked the 1 mile Silver Lake Loop at Brighton Ski resort.
It was beautiful!
Some did the loop and went back to their cars. Nathaniel had fun trying out Josh's wheelchair complete with gloves.
The rest of the group gathered halfway through the loop and took off on a side trail.
But from the side trail you could go either left or right. Right was longer and so some didn't want to do that, but it turned out that left was steeper. Either way it was pretty steep going. Each group ended up at a different lake. Here are some of the pictures that were taken by various people.
There were some rocks to check out.
Beautiful aspen trees!
Breaks along the way.
Gorgeous views up at the top.
And fun playing in the water!
Father/Daughter hikers: John and Aubrey
Meanwhile a few headed to our picnic area at Storm Mountain and started the fire.
Let the hot dog roasting begin!
Let the talking begin!
Let the eating begin!
Nathaniel had been reading in one of our past reunion books and it talked about "putting sticks in the fire" at the picnic grounds. He wanted to know more about that and hoped to try it.
So here he is with some cousins "putting sticks in the fire!"
We have come here several times as part of our reunions and it is always a fun time at a beautiful place.
Mountains, lakes, food and family make for a perfect afternoon and evening!
