Michael Turns Five!

 Michael was born in Seattle!
Now he is turning 5 in California!
He loved the Magforms he got... and so did everyone else!

Rumpus in the Rainforest!

Sadly I did not get to see Daniel's First Grade Play, but his Grandpa was there and he took pictures!
He raved about what a great job Daniel did on all the songs.
He had great enthusiasm!
He was a Story Teller and he knew his part well!
Nathaniel was up front in his stroller and Grandpa almost had as much fun watching him as he did Daniel.  Nathaniel tried to imitate all of the hand motions, he jived to the music and he clapped at all the right times!
The back of the program:
This is fun to see what the popular names are these days!
(I'm always interested in names because of my Indexing)

Arsenic and Old Lace!

My niece, Claire, was recently in her school play--the same play and the same part I had in high school!
Her Mom snapped a picture for me:
Here is what I have from when I was in the production playing the part of "Elaine."
These were two pictures from the Yearbook:
Some of my lines.  It's a very funny story!

Random Recently!

Here are some fun things that have been going on:
Camille in her dancing costume for
"The Good Ship Lollipop!"
Kathryn just got braces!
Elizabeth ready for her band concert!
(She plays the flute)
Elizabeth ready for her choir concert!
I got to babysit these two yesterday!
I think the grand kids liked the cousins matching game I sent them!
Michael squeezed some more lemons for us!
And this time we made him some lemonade!
Finally finished the annual Stake bulletin board!
(This is the 7th one I've done)

Everyone Deserves To Be Remembered: Indexing!

As part of my calling, I help members with Indexing.  Our stake had an Indexing challenge for the month of February headed up by the Youth. This past Sunday for 2 hours many of our youth met at a home to work on Indexing!
I was very impressed with how many showed up and their willingness to do this work!
When the tables were full, they went to the couch!
I was mainly at the table with these girls.  Although they are playing around right now with their phones, etc., they also concentrated and worked for most of the time.  I just thought of taking a picture when it was almost over.
Dan and I have been trying to aid in the effort as well. He has indexed over 500 names, and I have indexed over 2,900 names this month.  I think it's fun and interesting and brings a spiritual feeling!

Once Every Four Years!

We get an extra day!

Last time there was a "Leap Day" I posted about it because the grand kids came over!    Here's a peek back four years ago!

It's Leap Day!

When Dan woke up this morning at 5:30 a.m. I said: It's Leap Day!
He got very excited.  Did you say it's Sleep Day???
So fun to have a day that only comes once every four years.
It seemed like we should have a party!
First, you had to "leap" through the entry way on these green lily pads.
And then it was Play-Dough time!
What a cute bug Amelia made!
So fun to have six grandkids all working on creations!
And the seventh one, little Michael (sporting a new hair cut) had fun trying to see what he could get into while we were distracted!

You're Never Too Old For...

I am a firm believer in Family Home Evening.
The promised blessings are amazing!
Even though there is just the two of us at home, and we spend all day almost every day together, we still have a Family Home Evening every Monday night.  We take turns planning it, and I documented our most recent effort.
First, a lesson combining these two "articles," the first one from the MMM blog:
and the second from the February 2016 Ensign:
We had a great discussion about centering our lives on our Savior, Jesus Christ, and all He has done for us!
Then the activity:
And finally a yummy treat!
We love Family Home Evening!
Working for us for over 43 years!
