The second half of May got busy!
We hosted the Family Home Evening group on the 19th
We taught them how to play the Swedish game, Koob,
and the Brazilian game, Escravos de Jo.
Later that week when Hannah, Joshua and David
came after the temple we played some more Koob!
Amelia celebrated her 18th birthday!
Roller skating with friends that night and
then a family dinner outside the next night!
Employee Appreciation Day at the farm.
Amelia has done facepainting for the last few years.
Nathaniel liked the bounce house and bingo for prizes.
There was lunch and swimming too.
Michael liked the unlimited drinks, popcorn and ice cream!
Last track meet for Daniel.
He got 2nd in the 100, a PR,
2nd in the 200, 2nd in the 4 X 1
and 1st in the 4 X 4 where he ran anchor
and their team got a PR!
He also got this plaque:
Bethany was chosen as Star Student of the Month.
Teachers get to pick one person per year
to receive this honor and her choir teacher picked her!
Here is what she said about her:
"Bethany is a wonderful student who always tries her best.
She is quiet, but kind to many others.
She always tried to learn her part in the best way possible.
She never gives up when things get hard.
No matter who I seat her next to, she is friendly and kind.
She is respectful and willing to help everyone."
Aubrey played a solo in her Jazz Band concert!
Nathaniel had a band concert!
Jacob and Lily played their trumpets in their band concert!
David had a piano recital.
(Fortunately I got to watch him perform at our home afterwards!)
He is very talented!
Melanchuk family visit to the Feather River temple and a treat afterwards.
A little bird told me they were discussing shaving.
Josh, Andrea and Katie volunteered at the Syracuse Temple Open House
and another day they took a tour themselves.
John on a bike ride passed Josh on a bike ride.
Not planned but a pleasant surprise.
I believe they were on the Denver and Rio Grande Western Rail trail.
Camille's first ever try at a lemon meringue pie, one of her Mom's favorites.
Speaking from experience, this is not an easy pie to make.

Elizabeth and Sam met up for a fun hike!

Sarah had her last swim meet at the state finals in Topeka.
She made it to the finals in the 500 and both the relays she was in.
Her 400 free relay team got 4th place. The
top 8 receive medals and stand on a podium.
Exciting!
Memorial Day in Chico!
Trying to get rid of everything in their freezer
before they move, Darryl smoked a turkey for us.
We also played some games and had a lot of fun visiting.

Allie is in our ward and was a roommate of Courtney at BYU.

Peter graduated from Derby High School!
Sarah graduated from Andover Central High School!
Along with our other graduates,
Sarah also graduated from early morning Seminary!
Joshua graduated from Franklin High School!

Nathaniel had Promotion from 5th grade
at Durham Elementary School!
Nathaniel received the Darlene Towner award.
To quote the Principal: "This award is given to the student
who best exemplifies the "I Can" attitude,
freely gives of their time and materials for the benefit of others,
has a willingness to go the extra measure to accomplish a task,
and uses the tools that they have to the best of their ability
and overcomes adversity or disadvantages with a positive attitude."
All of the teachers and others decide on one recipient
and this year it was Nathaniel!
His name will be on this plaque that hangs at the school.
