I have always wanted to go to one of these:
I wondered what we would could see and do?
We had fun with Jeff's family last Saturday!
(Sam had band all day)
The kids tried knife throwing:
We watched battles:
I saw this sign and wondered to Dan if they had Koob.
He said: Look over there.
And sure enough there was a Koob game set up and ready for us to play.
We learned a new way to play and were told there are 101 ways to play.
Penny had fun making this layered sand bottle with Eleanor helping
And Peter had fun trying on this armour:
We watched some jousting:
And we watched some of the Scottish Highland Games.
We learned that these competitions were part of the
All-American Championship and the competitors were from all over the country competing for a spot in the International games in France.
The Caber Toss is really interesting.
The caber (tree trunk) is 19 feet 6 inches long and weighs 175 pounds!
They lift it, run with it and try to toss it end over end.
Peter tried the hatchet throw. He said it was really heavy.
Birds of prey:
And how appropriate: They served these big turkey legs for lunch!
An interesting and fun day!
