This and That in March 2025, Part 1!

 Spring is coming!

I see this little bird often outside my desk window.
He taps on the glass.
And our camellias have started blooming--also outside my desk window.
(Note: I've been told not to do much walking right now
so home is where I spend most of my time.)
Aubrey turned 14 on the 5th.
She had a fun dinner at Olive Garden!
We saw some of her presents on FaceTime
and then she told us about this cake that she made.
Then one week later on the 12th,
 Michael turned 14.
Presents before:
Presents after:
The Melanchuks came for a visit on a Saturday.
They all went out to dinner so I could stay home and rest.
Fortunately, Nathaniel stayed home with me!
He played songs on the instruments.
He can get a lot of sound out of them these days!
Then he played songs on the Music Maker
and I tried to guess the title.
Jacob and Lily had some fun activities during
their month long break recently from year-round school.
One morning they went to the Folsom Zoo...
...and afterwards they came here to play games.
Grandpa took them all to Wendy's--again so I could rest.
It's fun to get a picture by the Big Feet!
Amelia with Percy.
Family game on Sunday: Double Ditto
Multi-school track meet and Daniel did great:
2nd in 200, 3rd in 400, 3rd in 4 X 100 relay
Joshua continues with Drum Line activities.
I found this on social media.
It looks like the McClellan's ward
 makes cleaning the Church fun!
Kathryn checks in every week with her family.
Lots of good things happening on her mission!
Grandpa takes me on rides so I can get out a little bit.
Last week we went to the Rosemont area of Sacramento
and drove by our old house.
We moved into this house 50 years ago
 when it was brand new!
We lived there for 18 years.
Nathaniel performed in a 5th grade show
about American music through the years.
Here he is with his group;
Performing a dance to Elvis music!
(video below)
He reminds me of the King!
David is taking some special piano lessons.
The teacher is in Folsom,
so we are glad when they can stop by,
 and we get a performance!
(Video below)
We always enjoy it when Joshua and David stop by after the temple.
The Melanchuks also went to the temple.
What did the leprechaun say on March 17th?
Irish you a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

This and That in February, Part 2!

Valentine's Day and President's weekend have come and gone.

We got heart attacked!

Brian and MaryAnn had a special dinner at Cattlemen's

and a yummy dessert at home!

They had fun making food together over the weekend.
Heidi made a Valentine's treasure hunt for her girls using popular slang words
such as bruh, slay, lowkey, light work.
Here they are looking up a scripture clue:
There has been some cold weather in Kansas.  On a recent snow day they
worked at the food bank, then the  dentist, and finally Sarah working on Government homework and Camille working on art homework
They used up snow days and so one day it was -13 degrees when they left in the morning
Camille is doing  math homework using her leg.
Jeff and Suzie went to Bella Luna for lunch
 with Peter and Penny
And afterwards they did some archery.
Amelia and the other kids set up a romantic lunch area for their parents on Valentine's Day.
Valentine activities with boys: Lego airplanes by Michael, games with Nathaniel
and Azul and Queens Garden with Daniel
Nathaniel has his own lazy-boy chair
These three went to see a Pride and Prejudice play in Yuba City.
And later in the month they attended this:
Josh's kids surprised him by all coming home for the weekend.
Josh took off work and they all went bowling on Monday.
A fun family dinner was held on Sunday with 14 family members there!
John and Bethany were the main helpers on doing this puzzle.
They had this beautiful scenery out their window.
Melanchuks had a white display of almond blossoms
the same week here in California.
Michael did an indoor soccer season
Some great temple visits:
Feather River temple while Sacramento temple is closed.
Jacob and Lily got treated to some ice cream
for each reading the Book of Mormon in 90 days.
Sister Melanchuk with her new companion from Guatemala.
Our February Family Home Evening group activity was chair volleyball.
In other sports news:
Extra fun BYU basketball game vs U. of Arizona with the lead going back and forth.
96-95 for the BYU win with 11 ties and 20 lead changes!!
Who is more excited about the win, Elizabeth or Grandpa??

They are posing with another set of sisters from their ward.
