4th of July Backyard Style!

We had a super yummy barbecue.  

When Hannah sat down after filling her plate she said:

"Everything is delicious and I haven’t even tasted it yet"

Funniest picture of the day: Grandpa was trying to take a picture of Jacob and Lily and it wasn't until after he took the picture that he saw I was in the background reacting to something else totally unaware that a picture was being taken!

Nathaniel Turns 7!

We were able to go to Chico on Friday, June 26th for Nathaniel's 7th birthday.

We were five minutes from their house when we saw this on the dashboard of our car!

We were glad to get into their nice, cool house.

Nathaniel loved showing us his presents including this crane:

Amelia made this for him and he got lots of other fun things.

Then he opened our gift: some books!

He was so excited and got to reading right away!

We got to watch videos of Daniel playing the cello...

 ...and Kathryn playing the violin and piano.

We had a very fun and yummy dinner: Homemade individual pizzas made to our specifications. Amelia took care of the drinks.

After dinner we played Nathaniel's Birthday Bingo:

Finally it was time for cake and candles...

It is a book-shaped cake.

Amanda makes creative and delicious cakes!

So fun for Nathaniel to try to blow out the candles!

And then it was back to reading!

The books are all Nate the Great books.

Still dealing with the Pandemic and staying close to home most of the time.

Here are some random things from June.

A Friday visit to the Perrys but this time we went inside their house.

We tried to be careful.

Dan has been able to do a lot of bike riding and it shows in his "tan line."

I have been indexing and reached 50,000 names indexed.

(I had previously reached 50,000 combined.)

Sarah loves photography and was recognized for this photo of their window that got hit by a golf ball.

Jacob and Lily celebrated their 7 1/2 birthday!

This is how we do a 1,000 piece puzzle--one that we've previously done.

We do two puzzles after doing the edge!  The bell is for ringing when you put in a piece!

Camille is doing a piano bingo game for prizes and sends videos to her teacher to earn spots on her bingo card.

The Perrys played Ultimate Frisbee and Hannah took this picture of them.

The Melanchuks visited the SunDial Bridge in Redding...

 ...made good use of the peaches from their tree...

...and got a nice photo for Father's Day!

And the McClellans headed out on their trip to Montana.  First stop: Grand Teton national Park!

I've been doing a lot of crocheting for a project for the homeless this winter.

Dan spent many, many hours putting together this book!
