This and That in March 2024, Part 2!

Instead of March Madness around here, it has been March Gladness!
What a fun picture of Kathryn with her roommate, Valerie.
They are both standing with their feet flat on the floor!
Grandpa finished reading this book and then we watched a movie of it.
Great story!
Peter was in his school play, Anastasia!
We heard from a very reliable source that is was a wonderful production
and that Peter did a great job.
Penny was excited to find these gummy sharks.
She likes sharing about sharks on her Instagram,
and she made some vinyl decals that included sharks
 in her industrial arts class.
This past Saturday there were two baptisms in the Rose Hill Ward,
and two of the baptizers were from our family!
Peter baptized Asher Green:
And Jeff baptized a new convert, Brother Hogue!
Jacob and Lily have been off-track from school.
What to do?  Build a blanket fort and sleep in it!
David even got in on the fun!
Meanwhile Joshua was camping with some of his friends who had never been camping.
I'm not sure where they are but this was their set up.
Another missionary came to say goodbye to us as he got transferred to a new area.
Grandpa is always willing to help the missionaries in their discussions.
We said goodbye to our jug that we bought with wedding money at Grand Central.
It was used on many camping trips and fun outings!
Spring has sprung and we are enjoying the things blooming in our yard!
Including the peas coming up.  Yum!
Josh, Andrea and Matthew enjoyed some March Madness games at the Delta Center.
Amelia visited Kathryn in Provo for her Spring Break.
They had lots of fun!
One of Jacob's and Lily's last days on break and they were able to come here for
Magna Tiles, Gimme That and lunch with root beer floats.
Sister McClellan participated in her first pinewood derby...
...and did other missionary work!
Heidi and Charles enjoying their grandson!
We went on a Good Friday outing in the foothills to see green fields
close up rather than a "green hill far away."
Other notable highlights with no pictures:
John spent a few days working in Alabama, Emma celebrated her birthday, we hosted the Family Home Evening group here again and enjoyed playing a get-to-know you game, My Exciting Life, Grandpa went to Daniel's track meet in Rocklin (about 40 minutes from here),and the three Perry boys stopped by on Saturday night after the temple.  Along with hearing about the "olden days" and April Fools pranks,
we are also having an Oreo taste test.
We also got to hear Lily sing with her YW class and David perform a piano solo in Sacrament meeting on Easter Sunday.
The Perrys went to see The Lamb of God at the Oakland Temple church building.
I hope everyone enjoyed the Easter Week cards
Happy Easter from the Melanchuks:

Our missionaries are working hard!
Speaking of missionaries, Mike and Becky celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary on March 1st.
It was moving day and all of their 6 kids showed up to surprise them!
Becky said: "It was the best weekend ever with our family!"
On the 12th they received a mission call to serve in the Kenya Nairobi East mission,
a brand new mission opening in July.  They report to the MTC July 22nd.

Can't wait for a picture of them on their 51st wedding anniversary!
