Sea Ranch Collage!

I went crazy making these collages from our recent trip! We got so many good pictures. It was a wonderful time!!

We had fun watching the young seals frolic while their parents took a nap!

We watched several of these: The great blue heron

We actually saw this sunset one evening! Dan took it with the "sunset" setting on his camera. Amazing!   And Dan wants me to mention that we also watched some whales off in the distance.  Amazing again!

A New Christmas Tradition?

This is the third December in a row that we have spent a few days at the coast. We have so much fun listening to Christmas music, watching Christmas movies, and enjoying all the beauty on our long walks. I think we may have a new tradition starting!

Remembering...

Today Heidi sent me this picture of Courtney and Elizabeth visiting with Santa at Charles' company breakfast:

It brought back a memory from five years ago when Heidi was in the hospital with the twins, and I was trying to help Courtney and Elizabeth to have a fun holiday season.  I took them to the mall and was able to snap this picture of them:

And now we have this beautiful 5-year-old:

 And this little character who is almost 2!

Ready To Decorate!

I know I posted about these Christmas ornaments in a previous year,

 but there have been more grandchildren born! 

Here are the three newest ones.

    The girls' stockings I decorate for the month they were born in

 and the boys' sleds are " boy things" that remind me of that boy. 

Maybe when they are teenagers I'll make some to show their talents and interests.

 Here they all are ready to go on my tree!

I love thinking about all my grandchildren at Christmas! 

Christmas Memories!

As December gets into full swing, I hear of all the school programs.  We have some great memories of our kids participating, especially in the Kindergarten program!  Here is Jeff's program from 1984:

"Winter Holidays Kindergarten Program"

All four classes did a program on Thursday night. (December 13)  We did it twice.  Dan and Mandy went the first time.  Mom, Heidi and MaryAnn went the second time.  We sang a lot of songs.  My favorite was "Rudolph" which we sang a very funny way.  We also said some poems. (They are at the bottom)  I got picked to be one of the announcers.  I got picked because I could yell the loudest across our Multi-purpose Room at school.  I got to talk into a microphone for the program.  We all got cookies afterwards.

About a week ago our teacher gave us a piece of paper and told us to draw a picture about Christmas--anything we wanted.  I drew my Christmas stocking with me standing by it and a Christmas tree.  It got picked to be one of the six pictures in our printed program for our show.  I like Kindergarten and I like Christmas!

I had a little candy cane.

I knew it tasted yummy.

It used to hang on the Christmas tree,

But now it's in my tummy!

When Santa comes to my house

I would like to peek

But I know he'll never come

Until I'm fast asleep!

1984 was a great Christmas for our family!!
