The Hideaway Reception!

I'm not good at taking pictures at parties.  Just too busy!  But Dan got some at Josie and Brad's Reception.  It was at a place in Orem right up against the mountains.  We even had to go part way on a dirt road to get there.   Before the reception there was a luncheon, a program and a ring ceremony.  It was so fun learning all about how Josie and Brad got together, hearing a letter written by Jacey on her mission to Josie, and listening to tributes to the happy couple.  A highlight was seeing my Dad and Uncle Lloyd, Becky and Mike,  some darling nieces: Katie (and her family), Molly and Sally, and Josh and Andrea and family and Brian and MaryAnn and family!
Dan got Emma and Katie to pose:
Then Sophie joined in:
And finally Julia came by!
Matthew doesn't like his picture to be taken!
The ring ceremony was on the patio.  These photos give an idea of what a beautiful spot it was!

Josh was a celebrity with everyone wanting to sit near him and ask questions
One last smile from Katie!

Summer, Finally!

Middle of June and it is finally over 90 degrees.  Although I don't really like the hot weather, I do enjoy watching the grandkids have fun in the water while I sit in the shade and chat.   Hannah and Joshua were willing to pose for me but David was way too busy!

Our family has just finished a 21-day challenge in an effort to raise some money for two of our families!   It was very successful!!   Each family member was encouraged to particpate in both "reading" and "running."   Each family/person set their own goals and then reported back.

Some of the "reading" included:

Memorizing Articles of Faith
Reading a certain amount each day
Reading The Friend magazine
Reading Biographies
And for one toddler, NOT tearing pages out of books

Some of the "running" included:

Playing at the park
Dancing
Running
Painting the house
Bike riding
Basketball
Jumping Jacks
Musical chairs
Stretching
Workout videos
Dance Dance Revolution
Sit Ups and Push Ups
Walking home from school
Scooter riding
Tummy time

Here are some of the comments received:
"Thanks for doing this.  It was fun!"
"Thank you so much for organizing this!"
"Thanks for helping us be able to help out a little from so far away."
Now enjoy some pictures of the action!!!!

I think the recipients appreciated all of our efforts very  much!!!!
